When Dr. De Leon's grandmother died rather unexpectedly when he was seven years old, he had to know why. He learned from his parents she died of a heart problem. Later, he discovered her brothers and sisters also died of cardiovascular-related diseases. Upon learning this, he was inspired to work in medicine and help those dealing with heart disease. His passion for cardiology was further fueled in medical school. After countless hours studying this specialty, he was positive his future in cardiology would be an extremely fulfilling endeavor.
Cardiology has become more than his career; it is his true passion. Dr. De Leon treats his patients as he would his own family. He believes patients appreciate that he is genuine, dependable and provides care with integrity -- his patients always come first. Dr. De Leon has a special interest and training in peripheral vascular disease, coronary and structural interventions as well as chronic occlusion, echocardiogram and nuclear cardiology.
He believes the mind is like a knife you need to continuously hone to remain sharp. He enjoys expanding his knowledge and skills as a cardiologist through ever-emerging technology and techniques and looks forward to offering these progressive options to patients. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing and hunting.
