Education
- Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, Florida State University College of Medicine, Tallahassee, FL
As a board-certified physician assistant, my mission is to make a difference in the lives of others. I knew early on that I had a calling to do something big with my life – and as I looked at different paths, I fell in love with hands-on primary care/family medicine. The ability to give back in this way is incredibly rewarding for me, because it means I can meet many important needs.
In an average day at work, I might have conversations with patients about a variety of different things – preventive care and wellness screenings; mental health; women’s-specific care; and how best to manage chronic illnesses like diabetes and/or hypertension. I focus on helping educate patients in an accessible, informative way so that they understand all their options – and, ideally, avoid too many prescriptions and specialist referrals.
My patients would describe me as kind and a good listener, as well as a professional – someone who takes her time and doesn’t try to rush them through a discussion or a visit.
When I’m not with patients, I love spending time outdoors (gardening is one of my favorite hobbies), creating art, reading, and making memories with my family.
