About
I was born and raised in Alexandria, Egypt, where my passion for surgery and medicine started at an early age. After graduating medical school there, I moved to the United States to pursue further education, licensing, and American board certification.
What I love most about family medicine is that it’s never boring – I get to do a little bit of everything for people of all ages. And for me, being a doctor isn’t just a job; it’s a calling. I go to work and I’m the happiest person on Earth.
My patients say they love to come see me. I think that’s because I understand that going to the doctor can be hard, so I try to make the visit as pleasant as I can. That means spending enough time with each patient to get to know them. We talk about anything they like – their kids; their pets – in the service of building long-term relationships. I am kind and caring, but also persistent when I believe in a particular plan of treatment. I have an organized mind, which supports my diagnostic skills.
My areas of training are quite diverse. I treat children, adolescents and adults for common conditions such as hypertension, diabetes and urinary tract infections. I perform Pap smears and discuss family planning; treat back pain; remove ear wax and skin tags, and care for skin conditions. I also help patients who suffer from sleep disturbances, depression, anxiety or who want to quit smoking.
I have a great deal of hands-on volunteer and research experience in many medical fields and subjects, including healthcare for refugees and people experiencing homelessness; youth addiction treatment; and HIV/AIDS management.
Outside of work, I like to spend time with my husband, children and dog. We read, travel, hike, listen to music and gather in the kitchen to cook and bake together.
