About
My philosophy, in terms of practicing medicine, is that it is always complex – even when the problem I am treating is simple and straightforward. It is important to look at the patient as a complete individual.
I also believe that less is more. Oftentimes, when a physician correctly diagnoses a condition early on, the patient ends up needing less treatment – and experiences a better outcome. I strive to address the root cause of any issue, not mask it by simply treating the symptoms. I am certified in obesity medicine and management as well as in wound care, but my practice is comprehensive and full-spectrum.
When I teach and supervise resident physicians in our Graduate Medical Residency program, I emphasize how important it is to be a 'one-stop shop" for patients, as far as possible. I love when my students ask me questions, and sometimes disagree with me, as part of their learning process in becoming skilled, knowledgeable, and compassionate doctors.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my cats and reading.
