About
Education
- Master of Physician Assistant Studies, Butler University, Indianapolis, IN
I decided to pursue a career as a physician assistant during my time working as a pharmacy technician. In this role, I had the opportunity to interact with many patients and observe their experiences with their own healthcare providers. These interactions sparked my interest in becoming more directly involved in patients’ care with hands-on problem solving. My goal has always been to have a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of my patients.
My professional philosophy centers on the importance of attentive listening. The goal of this philosophy is to gain a broad understanding of my patients concerns before making any assessments. I believe patients are not defined by their diagnosis, but instead are individuals with their own emotions and experiences. Practicing with empathy and kindness is a cornerstone of my approach.
What I value about orthopedic surgery is the continuity of care. I take great satisfaction in being involved throughout the entire process of surgery – from preoperative consultations in the clinic or the ER, to assisting in surgery, and then following up with patients postoperatively. I particularly enjoy the process of restoring a patient’s function and mobility. It is incredibly rewarding to see the positive impact surgery, or even steroid injections have on our patient’s lives.
When I’m not working with patients, I’m playing pickleball, reading a book, hiking, or watching reality TV shows with my friends.
