About
I chose to become a trauma, critical care, emergency and general surgeon because I love the intellectual challenge. Any injury or condition requiring surgery is a puzzle to solve, and there usually isn’t one correct answer. I like being able to fix a problem by working directly with my hands – and I also like working with other surgeons and other physicians as part of a cohesive, committed team in service of our patients.
Helping people on their worst days and getting them back to the life they knew before is immensely rewarding – and I want patients to be able to take ownership and agency regarding their health. I strive to guide each person by finding out what’s important to them, and then tailoring their treatment to the outcome they want. I take the patient’s specific story into account, judge the risks and benefits of any surgical plan, and help that patient decide the best way to move forward.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my young family – exploring the outdoors is one of our favorite pursuits.
