About
Since I was a child, I always felt the innate need to help those around me, which ultimately led me to my career in medicine. I decided general surgery was my true passion when I realized I could help people in a very tangible and effective way.
As a general surgeon, I treat a broad range of conditions including surgery of the gallbladder, appendix and complex abdominal wall hernia repairs. I take a special interest in foregut surgeries, including hiatal hernias, anti-reflux procedures, diagnostic and interventional endoscopies, as well as implementation of advanced laparoscopic and robotic techniques.
In addition, I offer heartburn evaluation and solutions tailored to the individual. Many patients with severe heartburn, regurgitation issues and/or difficulty swallowing want to discontinue their acid-blocking medications and opt for surgery – and many are able to do so. After an in-depth discussion and some testing, we can determine which surgical option will work for you.
My patients would say that I have a great bedside manner and am a relatable physician. I pride myself on striving to find the best treatment options available for each individual patient and listening to all of their concerns carefully. Surgery is a scary and stressful time, and I like to be a calming influence for them. Outside of the office, I enjoy being outdoors: golfing, camping and hiking are just a few things I love spending my free time doing. I am native to Tucson, and am looking forward to setting my roots here with my wife and son.
